(a penny for your thoughts)

[24 Jul 2008|01:41am]

oatmeal
just talked to Cozeth on the phone for a while.

Talking about Portland and the people there still feels like talking about home. One of my friends is dating a lady I used to have a crush on; my ex-girlfriend is dating some guy on the other side of the country; so-and-so and so-and-so are working here, or there, and getting along, or not, and do you remember that place at that corner?

It hurts, a little. I miss the people, and the city; but also it's nice just to know that they're still there.

I'm very lonely here, is what I'm trying to say.

Undoubtedly a response to the Recent Contest Drama, but a good one: this House fanfiction contest looks like it'll be fun. <3

Nifty art sculpture: Numbskull.

So, so tired. Despite that fact, things appear to be almost clean. Other parents are PISSING ME OFF by whining about their Special Snowflakes over email using 'reply all', as though we all give a damn (or more likely because they are inept). Cute little girl with Downs' Syndrome on Seaners' bus seems to like him, and me. <3 Carrying on. Happy Tuesday, y'all.

Epic packaging fail from HP.  Just imagine if they shipped, you know, actual hardware.  Would a single 1U blade be delivered via forklift and armed escort?

Slow day today; I slept nearly ten hours and still took a nap mid-morning. But after some coffee and a bowl of strawberries and ice cream my head is finally clear again.

Clicky of the day: New England soccer (or 'football', as you prefer) team subdues unruly nude passenger mid-flight.

God, my brain is oatmeal, I swear.

ETA: I just recieved the little box of socks which is all sock knitting patterns! Very, very cute. And a nice form factor (they're all on laminated cards, very handy.) Mmmm, nomnom socks.

Found in the comments elsejournal: If you go to Giveaway of the Day today you can download Liquid Story Binder, which looks to be a handy type organizational program for writertype people. You have to download and install it today - it'll give you an activation code - but it's free. PC-only I am reasonably sure; it claims XP and Vista.

Achieved today: drugstore run, picked up methadone 'scrip, got pedicure. (I don't know what it's called when your podiatrist does it, but it's basically a pedicure in my brain.)

Movies picked up at video store: 'Double Happiness', 'Mongolian Ping Pong' and the first season of 'This Hour Has 22 Minutes'. Rockin'.
